September Home Sales Report for the Flagstaff Area
There were 104 single family homes sold in the Flagstaff area during the month of September. We also sold 19 townhomes and 11 condos as well. Overall we are looking at the third consecutive month of surpassing the volume for the same months in 2018. Buyers who were ready and able to go under contract benefited from a slight drop in interest rates. There was no decrease in prices however. The median sales price for single family homes in the Flagstaff area in September was $455,500. That’s 15.48% higher than September 2018’s median price of $394,000.
Nationwide sales for September were up 3.9% compared to 2018. The median price for single family homes for the nation was $275,100 up 6.1% from one year ago. The Monthly Existing-Homes sales report from National Association of REALTORS® discusses the inventory issues in our national market. Chief NAR economist Lawrence Yun stated “Home prices are rising too rapidly because of the housing shortage, and this lack of inventory is preventing home sales growth potential. We must continue to beat the drum for more inventory.”
