Best Flagstaff Homes Realty Community Involvement

Best Flagstaff Homes Realty Giving Back to the Community in Flagstaff, AZ

As members of Best Flagstaff Homes Realty, our work goes beyond helping our clients buy and sell houses. It is our greatest privilege to serve not only the needs of our clients but those of the Flagstaff community as a whole.

At the center of real estate is community, and we believe our business is only as strong as the communities in which we live and work. That’s why we work tirelessly, volunteering our resources, time, and skills to organizations and charities that share our commitment to strengthening and supporting our Flagstaff, Arizona communities.

How We Give Back to Flagstaff

Best Flagstaff Homes Realty REALTOR® Tad Moore has served on the Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff Board of Advisors, Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff Social Services Committee Co-Chair, as Co-Chair of Northern Arizona Housing Fund, Chair of City of Flagstaff Housing Authority Board, and as Northern Arizona Association of Realtors Vice President (President-Elect in 2020).

Best Flagstaff Homes Realty has participated in the ‘25 Men That Think They Can Cook‘ event that raises funds for Child Help organization. We also support the NAU Athletics programs by donating to fundraising events that raise money for student-athlete scholarships.

Throughout our history, Best Flagstaff Homes Realty has been devoted to strengthening the fabric of Flagstaff, AZ. Whether we’re sponsoring blood drives, taking part in trail cleanups, or lending our support to housing funds that help low-income families. We are collectively and individually committed to being present and positive participants in the communities where we live, work, and play.

Creating Affordable Housing Opportunities

Housing is an essential element of community. And yet, the cost of housing in northern Arizona far exceeds what low- and moderate-income individuals and families can afford. With housing costs exceeding the national average by 36%, affordable housing is out of reach for many working families in our community.

Best Flagstaff Homes Realty is proud to partner with The Northern Arizona Housing Fund, which seeks to help secure safe, affordable housing for families, workers, and individuals experiencing homelessness in our community.

“The creation of decent, affordable housing is a community-wide issue and we all are part of the solution. We believe everyone deserves to have a place to call home.”

NORTHERN ARIZONA HOUSING FUND

The Northern Arizona Housing Fund is co-chaired by Best Flagstaff Homes REALTOR® Tad Moore. Tad’s commitment to advancing economic and social equality for all residents of the Flagstaff community is reflected in all that he does. In addition to the time he commits to furthering the housing fund’s goals, he also sits on the Board of Advisors of the Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff; co-chairs the Social Services Committee of the Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff; and is a member of the City of Flagstaff Housing Authority Board.

Protecting Flagstaff’s Children

Best Flagstaff Homes REALTOR® Kelly Kasprzyk serves as co-chair of the Northern Arizona ChildHelp chapter, which is committed to protecting children and strengthening families and communities through prevention, intervention, and treatment programs.

“Childhelp exists to meet the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of abused, neglected and at-risk children. We focus our efforts on advocacy, prevention, intervention, treatment and community outreach.”

CHILDHELP

Members of the Best Flagstaff Homes Realty team have also raised funds for ChildHelp through participation in 25 Men That Think They Can Cook. This fun event pits 25 men from the Flagstaff community against one another, each vying for the top spot in categories including Best Entree, Best Chili or Soup, and Best Dessert. The ticketed event also includes music and live and silent auctions, with more than 90% of proceeds going to ChildHelp.

Supporting Student-Athletes

Best Flagstaff Homes Realty has its fair share of NAU alums, including Skyjacks Foundation Vice President Kelly Kaprzyk. We’ve seen firsthand the impact that community involvement and donations can have on the academic and athletic success of NAU student-athletes, and that’s why we’re proud to donate time and raise funds for student-athlete scholarships.

“(We) provide invaluable support for our NAU student-athletes, and every contribution has a positive impact on their ability to succeed in the classroom, in competition, and in the community.”

What it Means to be Part of the Flagstaff Community

Tucked into the foot of the San Francisco Peaks, Flagstaff, AZ’s 64 square miles sit at 7000 feet above sea level and are surrounded by sweetly-scented ponderosa pines. Students, vacationers, and year-round residents populate the constellation of neighborhoods that make up the larger Flagstaff community, so there are a variety of cultural and recreational activities to enjoy.

Since our founding, our team members have volunteered their time and talents in the community, raised funds for local causes, served as board members of community organizations, and consistently sought to enhance their knowledge so as to best serve the people of Flagstaff. We are, each of us, committed to not only being the best agents for our clients, but being good neighbors to all.

Good neighbors are easy to find in Flagstaff—that’s just one of the reasons so many people who come here to visit decide to stay. Once they’re here, they find that a compassionate, cooperative spirit is baked right into Flagstaff’s DNA. These are just a few of the ways that Flagstaff comes together every day with their friends, family, and neighbors for the benefit of our community:

  • Volunteers staff Flagstaff’s City Stewards program, which endeavors to maintain Flagstaff’s beauty and keep parks, trails, and streets litter-free.
  • Five city-supported community gardens offer workshops and classes to enhance the gardening know-how of interested residents, and also provide group and individual gardening plots where novices and green-thumbs alike can grow crops for their families and neighbors.
  • Flagstaff’s Fix-It Clinics are held four times a year. Residents can bring furniture, appliances, toys, jewelry, and anything else in need of repair to a team of volunteers from the community who will fix it (and keep it out of a landfill) for free.
  • Every other Wednesday from May through August, volunteers from the Picture Canyon Working Group come together at Picture Canyon to remove invasive weeds that threaten the ecosystem during Wednesday Weed Pulls.

While many of us at Best Flagstaff Homes Realty grew up right here in Flag, our commitment to being responsible, active members of the community is driven by more than our roots. We live and work in a community that is committed to helping its neighbors, protecting its natural resources and environment, and creating a stronger Flagstaff. We are grateful to be part of the Flagstaff community, and honored to do our part.
