What Neighbors Are Saying About Living in Doney Park:

“My favorite thing about Doney park is the community, we are one big family that steps up if someone needs help, watches out for our neighbors, cheers each other on, we have our own parades, events, and trunk or treats. We have awesome sunsets too.”

“Every August I would sleep on my patio with my glasses on and wake up during the night to watch the persades meteor shower. Doney park wind was definitely tough, but I have wonderful memories living there.

“Doney has not changed its attitude towards others. Country living as it was 40+ years ago. I enjoy owning land, it’s like a pioneer. It’s the atmosphere. You help your neighbors, they help you but you don’t intrude!” -John Girvin (property owner)

“Growing up out here we knew all of our neighbors. They would tell your parents you got in trouble before you could, or they covered for you and sent you home. We raised our kids out here to have the small-town feel but be close enough to town to still have a “city” life. My favorite reason to live out here is you may not know the neighbors but they will be there for you at the drop of hat. We still have each other’s back!” -Salyna Girvin

I mostly love the open space and not being right on top other people. Friendly neighbors that enjoy their privacy as well. I love to sit on my deck in the evening and just listen to the chickens, horses, donkeys, dogs, birds, cows etc of Doney Park. I am always in awe when I’m sitting outside on my deck and have a herd of elk come within touching distance to graze. I was in my spa one morning watching the sun rise with my coffee when a herd of elk came thundering over the hill behind us! As Flagstaff grows I am happier by the year to live in Doney Park, I have all the beauty of living in a country setting but only a 10 minute drive to town. I’m always most happy to be out of Flagstaff traffic.”

“I love the sense of community!”

“It’s a quiet neighborhood and the neighbors have been welcoming & friendly. We love being close to Flagstaff and all it has to offer but are far enough away to enjoy the rural feel of the area. We have great views of Mount Elden and the San Francisco Peaks and love the proximity to Sunset Crater and the Cinder Hills OHV area, which can be accessed through the east end of the neighborhood.”

“It’s quiet with larger pieces of land, lots of room to spread out, lots of animal sounds- roosters, donkeys, prairie dogs, dogs, horses, sheep, goats, birds and amazing views!
We are a good distance from our neighbors and the whole neighborhood is peaceful.”

The History of Doney Park

A farming community originally, Doney Park and the Timberline area east of Flagstaff had the largest field of pinto beans in the county. The fields were dependent on summer monsoons and snowmelt. Weather in Flagstaff

Weather in Flagstaff

Weather

With four distinct seasons, Flagstaff’s weather offers something for everyone. Warm and bright sunshine in the summer, chilly mornings with colorful aspens in the fall, snow with freezing temperatures in the winter, and a mix of everything in the spring. The average high in the summer is 80ºF and a low of 53ºF. During the cold season of late November to early March, the average daily high is below 49ºF. The hottest month is July and the coldest month is December. Flagstaff’s mountain elevation does bring summer monsoon storms that keep the trails in great shape and the hot days to a minimum.

Market Trends

Flagstaff has historically had a market based on high demand and low inventory. This creates a seller’s market, with buyers scooping up Flagstaff homes quickly as they come on the market. In the past 20 years, home prices have increased in Arizona by an average rate of 4.15%. In 2021 – they doubled! Although new homes are being built in Flagstaff and surrounding communities like Bellemont and Kachina Village, we expect it to continue to be a seller's market for years to come.

Our Community

Flagstaff is a tightly knit community that offers small-town vibes with all the city amenities you need. With its bustling downtown life, numerous mountain adventures and active Northern Arizona University campus, Flagstaff is home to a diverse community. Weekly summer farmer’s markets, art walks, theater happenings, local breweries, shopping and restaurants are all within walking distance of Downtown Flagstaff. There are seven national parks and monuments within 80 miles of Flagstaff, including Walnut National Monument and the Grand Canyon. With Sedona’s unique landscape just 45 minutes to the south and Snowbowl Ski Resort just 30 minutes to the north, Flagstaff is an outdoor lovers’ paradise.
