According to the National Association of Realtors’ survey of members, low numbers of home sales in January were caused by low numbers of homes to sell as well as continuing tight credit conditions, especially for the self-employed. One thing to keep in mind before you act on that new freedom to move from your job because the health insurance handcuffs are no longer there: Your credit strength will drop because you can’t show a steady source of income from a corporate paycheck. You may have a business plan, but can you sell it to a bank? Buy your home first, then quit!
